Outdoor Guide: Time to Start Planning for 2021!
Have you started planning for 2021?
Believe it or not, it’s time to start planning your outdoor trips that include thru-hiking trips, backpacking, and camping trips.
I admit I made the mistake of not disclosing this reservation information because it will increase the likelihood of not getting a campsite. I realized this is a tactic other people use, and I believe the lack of planning 6-months in advance knowledge is one reason there is a lack of diversity of the trail.
If we don’t know about it, how can ever book the cool and amazing place and during the best time of the year?
That’s not fair. This land is our land. It belongs to everyone, including the newbies who want to make adventuring apart of their lives and create a tradition.
I had a blast camping this year, but the lack of color and times I didn’t see one black family broke my heart. I hope this post will educate the BIPOC community, and I hope to see you out there for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day or other days.
For popular holidays, campsites sell out like concert tickets, so treat it that way! Usually, we stay local and adventure out non-holiday days because we don’t care for the crowds. But you do whatever you want to do!
Note: not all parks, preserves, and campsites are the same. Sometimes you will need to book it later, whatever it may be: do your research now and start planning! Did you know you can reserve your Lost Coast Wilderness Permit right now? We will look into that!
I hope to see more color outside!
