Outdoor Recreation Consultation
Are you planning an outdoor trip and don’t know where to start?
Day-Hikes, Camping, Backpacking, Thru-Hiking and more comes with several questions. You’re visiting somewhere new, of course you will have questions.
Let me help you get pointed to the right direction so you can start planning your trip as soon as possible.
Feel free to ask me any questions, I mean any! It can range from finding a perk, permit process, gear, hygiene in the woods, feminine questions in the woods, and being in a relationship & the outdoors.
Since I am free the burbs in Houston, I had all the same questions, and let me share what I learned so you can go straight to the fun part!
About Heather:
I’m a 32-year-old Latina who grew up in the suburbs of Houston, Texas. In 2012, I moved to San Francisco, where I started my career in marketing. My partner, Stephen Woodson, is an open space technician who develops parks and green spaces. He is an Eagle Scout and an experienced backpacker and I am an experienced (15 years) long-distance runner.
Our appreciation and gratitude for the outdoors are how we connected. The trails were our jam. He asked me to go on a hike for our first date, and the rest is history. I applied the same principles of running to backpacking, and it clicked. It was the most beautiful thing I had experienced—to slow down the pace, see the beauty around me, and share it with someone I love. In 2017 we thru-hiked 2300 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail and we plan to finish the 300 mile Sierra Section in 2021.
Heather’s Professional Experience:
I have 10+ years experience in advertising & marketing and I studied advertising for my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, which fall under the school of Communication. I managed a non-profit advertising young professional organization in San Francisco as president for two years. I’m experienced with managing campaigns from the pre-planning, implementation, optimizations, and campaign reporting.
With my communications background combined with my love for the outdoors since 2001, I know I will best answer your questions and help you.
My advertising graduate background, allows me to see past the marketing campaigns and I know you are probably frustrated with overwhelming information out there. I promise you that I will guide to the right path without buying things you don’t need. It is the reason I chose not to be a sponsored by brands.
Stephen’s Professional experience:
Stephen is a native to the Bay Area. He knows the ins and out since he grew up in the South Bay and as an Eagle Scout. He has worked for multiple agencies from city, county, state, and open space agencies since 2012. Before he started working in the Parks he served in the Navy. He currently works as a Open Space Technician II in the Bay Area.
Stephen is my right hand, and I consult with him. He’s my eyes and ears to the day-to-day trends in the outdoor world since he is there 5 days a week.
