Heather Diaz,
Latina outdoor guide

About Me Heather

First-generation Latina hiker from the Houston suburbs and now lives in the San Jose area. Backpacked 2500+ miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. Experienced in marketing and advertising for 10+ years in media + content strategy, and I received my Bachelor’s and Masters Degree in communications & advertising.

BLS CPR + AED Certified.

my brand goal

My goal is to help women feel included, empowered, and prepared for their next adventure by creating in-person events, which includes introduction to camping, backpacking 101, and creating online education. I want to create a community that wherever we go feels like home, that includes nuestra cultura, what makes feel like home,

In 2023, I want to be a guide working with National and State Parks.

Education & Coursework:
-Wilderness First Responder Certification Course

Partnership Ask: Hispanic/Latine/Latinx Heritage Month

I lead group hikes in the Fall and Early Winter and lead camping trips (backpacking including) in the late Winter – Summer.

If there was an opportunity to receive any partnerships, sponsorships, swag, or promo codes, that would be wonderful. These women are fresh into the outdoors, and ready for all the adventure. They are always looking to level up their adventure. I’ve never met so many passionate people who are eager to learn everything and as much as possible ever. They are so positive, full of live, and spirit.

My Target audience
– Women of Color Hikers, predominantly Latina (25-44)
– Relatively new to hiking, camping, or backpacking, and willing to take next step in their adventures
– First-generation hiker, and their bff’s don’t hike, so they are seeking community and new outdoor bff’s
– Any Bay Area Outdoor Group doesn’t resonate with them because it’s not led by someone who looks like themselves (no Latina Led hikes, who is also likes to be fashionable, sustainable, relatable, and loves plants)
– They have 0 brand loyalty, since they don’t know anyone who loves the outdoors or has been in the space for a while
– They are seeking to rely on brands they can trust from trusted sources, they are always listening for recommendations and always take notes

@letsgooutsideyall Gen Pop Yosemite Valley Advice. Best decision ever, and we did everything we wanted. In one day we saw Vernal Falls, Upper Yosemite Falls, and had energy for a night hike to Mirror Lake. Said gen pop, because I know not everyone can do this. #yosemitenationalpark #yosemitevalley #yosemitevalleytips #yosemitetictok #yosemitetips #yosemitecalifornia #yosemitefalls #latinaswhotravel #latinastiktok #diversifyoutdoors #bipoctiktok #letsgooutside #letsgooutsideyall ♬ Oh No – Kreepa
