About Toxic Gear Culture and Being Latina

Have you ever heard the terminology, Gear Snob or Toxic Gear Culture? I’m sure this could relate to fashion, sports, and other hobbies. I had thought I was a gear snob. Digging deeper, my Latina Heritage has a lot to do with it. Growing up Latina meant to me:โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Being Thrifty, Never Pay Full Price,โ€ฆ

Wave to the Ocean

Long walks on the beach are therapeutic to my soul. Bike rides and weight lifting is fun but long walks have been more meaningful than ever.ย  My significant other is an essential worker therefore Iโ€™m alone during the day. It doesnโ€™t seem like an issue but it can get lonely. That is the reason Iโ€ฆ

Trailaversary

Happy 3-year trail-a-versary for the @trailpirates aka me and @wooodysan. It feels as we had left for the Pacific Crest Trail yesterday. We are grateful we have each other to remind one another of missing a piece of memory. It can get sad when we both forget a detail or two and it will continueโ€ฆ

Grow Baby Quads Grow

Hey, look at my baby quads. I’m more than excited they are popping out slowly. It baffles me because it has been 6.5 weeks sheltering-in-place due to the coronavirus, and my quads are making an appearance. I am thankful I decided to take this pandemic and shelter-in-place order not to continue cutting/dieting. Choosing to maintainโ€ฆ

Gone Fishing

We celebrated Stephen’s birthday by fishing Sunday and Monday. I am not a fisherman. During this pandemic, now I understand fishing. Being outside of 10a-4:30pm was fantastic. Anything scenery change from our tiny apartment is terrific, but to have the ocean view and to hang out in bliss. And it is ok to be byโ€ฆ

Conquering Fears

The look of excitement for conquering my fears! Today I went for a 90-minute walk that includes crossing a river. Stephen has been bugging me to conquer my fears and crossed it. Falling In Love All Over Again

On Monday, I fell in love all over again with my significant other. It’s the strangest feeling because I didn’t think it would be possible to have all these emotions filled up in my heart. We started off going for a morning stroll before our workout. The past few days, I had felt like Iโ€ฆ

Life Update

It’s a beautiful sunny day in Santa Cruz, California, with a high of 73 degrees. My work hours are significantly reduced, which I am sure this is something the general population is facing, that or unemployment. One thing that has been my savior has been my community. The beaches, the sand, sunshine, pedestrian, and bike-friendlyโ€ฆ

Transformation: February – April

I’m happy I can start blogging about my transformations without feeling insecure if I posted it on Instagram and Facebook. As a Latina, it is not very easy to post any revealing photos of your body. I can see my mom shaking if I publicly posted these pictures on Facebook. Oh, being a Latina. Myโ€ฆ
